Beckett and Sons is a coffee shop and brunch place at the heart of Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. We are in a beautiful modern building on Sandwick Road, opposite the Nicolson Institute and just a short drive to both the airport and ferry terminal. We have a private car park for customer use and a beautiful garden out front that is full of scented herbs, some of which are utilised in different dishes on our menu.
Our coffee is by Square Mile, making us the most north westerly stocklist in the British Isles for this London roastery and our tea comes from Edinburgh-based merchant Eteaket. The menu is simple and delicious, catering to a wide range of dietary requirements. We have all the classic brunch dishes available, including Eggs Benny, Florentine and Avocado on Toast.
For those with a sweet tooth, we also have a wide selection of cakes – all baked fresh on site every day. We have over a decade of experience working the coffee scene, both internationally in Melbourne and closer to home in Edinburgh. This urban influence can be seen in the space that we have lovingly curated, filling the two floors with plants, flowers, paintings (and keep your eyes open for a huge model yacht!).
Our dream was always to return home to Lewis and open a coffee and brunch spot that would serve the island community and all those who visit our shores. We were honoured to be named as one of the top 50 restaurants in Scotland in 2024 by the Daily Record. We are dog friendly (all we ask is that they are kept on a lead).
