About

Welcome to our Historic 18th Century Hebridean Farmhouse full character & charm. We are a working Croft offering a unique taste of Hebridean croft life. Located in the small crofting community of South Galson on the far north west coast of the Isle of Lewis. 

Ideal for visitors who want to get away from it all & stay a while to experience a peaceful more slower pace of life & enjoy the unique culture of this special area of Lewis has to offer. 

We are just 500 metres from the beach with panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean & the dramatic coastline towards the Butt of Lewis lighthouse. 

From our stone walled garden breathe in the quality fresh sea air & enjoy watching the ever changing scenery, lambs in the crofts & the abundance of wildlife, golden eagle & migrating birds. There are Coastal walks from the doorstep & we are situated on the Hebridean Way.

Close to many beautiful unspoilt beaches including Eoropie Beach, Port Stoth & Port of Ness. A short drive to the ancient Clach An Truisal standing stone, Steinacleit, Callanish standing stones, the Blackhouse at Arnol & the Gearrannan Blackhouse village. Explore a little further down the west coast to Uig with it's stunning beaches of Ardroil & Valtos. The Isle of Harris is a 1 hour drive away

What we offer

Four beautifully decorated Double En Suite Bedrooms with soft furnishings of bespoke contemperary locally woven Harris Tweed & a special attention to detail.

One Super Kingsize bedroom, One standard Double bedroom both with far reaching views towards the sea & coastline 

Two Twin double bedrooms (single beds) with garden & croft views

All with tea/coffee making facilities, luxury toiletries & fluffy towels, mini fridge, clock radio with USB & Wifi

We offer a choice of breakfast from healthy to hearty including our Galson Farmhouse cooked Breakfast featuring locally sourced produce.

Two cosy guest lounges with unique character, artwork & seaviews. Good collection books & information.

A beautful stone walled garden with seaviews. 

Fully licensed with a good selection of wine, local gins & whisky, spirits & Scottish beers.

For those that prefer to self cater we offer Crofter's Retreat for two located in the old cobblestone courtyard coverted from part of the old stone barn. Offering luxury studio accommodation with a cosy lounge/bedroom with super comfy King size bed, sofa TV Wi-Fi  & garden views. A seperate fully equipped kitchen/diner & shower room, outdoor seating with full use of the guesthouse garden.

We are located 20 miles North west of Stornoway just a 30 minute drive from the ferry port & 40 mins from the airport. We are far enough away from it all, with the whole of the islands ready for you to explore by car.
