WalkDescription
Make your way to the west side of Lewis to discover the iconic Callanish Standing Stones (Calanais I). Along this walk you will also discover the Cnoc Ceann a’ Gharraidh standing stones (Calanais II) and Cnoc Fhillibhir standing stones (Calanais III).
Walk Waypoints
- 1 Start the walk at the Callanish Visitor Centre.
- 2 Take a left here and follow the road to the junction of the main road.
- 3 Turn right here on to main road.
- 4 Turn right here up the wee road.
- 5 Head along to the end of the road and then across the land and you will see Calanais II
- 6 Cnoc ceann a’ gharraidh (Calanais II). 300 metres to the left is Calanais III.
- 7 Cnoc Fhillibhir Bheag (Calanais III). Head down to the main road and retrace back to the road before the visitor centre.
- 8 Turn right here and follow the road uphill and round to the entrance gate of Callanish I.
- 9 Callanish I - main Callanish Stones
- 10 Drop into the Calanais Visitor Centre for a cuppa!
