Welcome to Àiridh a’ Bhàigh (The Shieling by the Bay) a luxury 5 star self-catering thatched cottage centrally located in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland island chain on the beautiful island of South Uist. The cottage is an original 1800s traditional thatched cottage which has been renovated to the highest standard retaining its authentic Hebridean character with added luxuries for your relaxation and enjoyment. Handmade luxury furnishings complete with an authentic peat fire create a traditional look and feel that adds a real touch of class for that special romantic hideaway.

The cottage is an energy efficient naturally low carbon hideaway located in a tranquil unspoilt environment where an abundance of rare wildlife will entertain you in their natural habitat from your window or the secluded bay view seating area.

You can sit and relax on your private elevated view point where you may view the Isle Of Skye, Rhum, Harris, Barra, Benbecula, North Uist and St Kilda on a clear day. Only minutes walk away enjoy the finest award winning local produce from the fertile land and sea of the Outer Hebrides in the local restaurant.
