Campsite located in the heart of the RSPB’s Balranald Nature Reserve only metres from a beautiful sandy beach on the west coast of North Uist. Hear and see the elusive corncrake from your pitch. A bird watchers paradise and an ideal base for exploring the Uists.

We have 19 hard standing pitches with electric hook-up for motorhomes/caravans and 17 grass pitches for tents and campervans, 12 of which have electric hook-up. You can check availability and book online via our website.

The Corncrake Pod sleeps 2 people in single beds. Well equipped with fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery and cutlery, electric heater, lighting and bed linen supplied.

Our 2 modern heated amenities blocks provide electric showers (operated by £1 coin meter), toilets, wash hand basins, disabled facilities, drying room, dish washing and laundry facilities. Chemical toilet emptying (organic/green additive only), grey water emptying, drinking water filling points, bins and recycling facilities. Contactless payment available.

We have a small shop on site selling local produce (Lochmaddy Bay Prawns and smoked salmon), delicious Orkney ice cream, locally made gifts, maps, books, snacks and soft drinks.

The RSPB Visitor Centre is nearby providing guided walks during the summer months.

The Dunes Cabin is based on site from May to the end of September providing delicious soups, freshly filled sandwiches, homebaking, filter coffee, teas and snacks.
