About

Unique Camping Pod accommodation which is a perfect quirky alternative to traditional camping, self-catering, bed and breakfast, hostelling, and hotels.

Our site is located on the working Isle of Grimsay – an island connected to Benbecula and North Uist by causeways. The Creel Yard was once a creel yard used for storing creels! A creel is the local name for a lobster pot. You will see lots of Creels, fishing boats and fishing paraphernalia on Grimsay.

The site is designed specifically for guests travelling and exploring Uist and the Hebrides, we offer simple but functional accommodation. We have double, twin and four-bed pods all sharing a large well-equipped kitchen/ living area and six shower rooms.

Our showers are extremely powerful.

Superfast Wi-Fi is available throughout the site making it ideal for remote working and each pod has a sustainable electricity supply.

All our pods are fully insulated and very cosy. Our double pods have very sturdy turf roofs with porches, camping chairs and fire pits – all have their own distinctive views of nature, the sea, distant mountains, and islands. Perfect for relaxing and watching the world go by.

Our twin and four bed pods provide comfortable accommodation for overnight stays and those doing a taster tour of the Hebrides (but you are welcome to stay longer). They also have decks, camping chairs and firepits.

The pod site is spacious, dog friendly, offers one-night stays, has free parking, E-bike hire and an EV charger. Large groups requiring sole use of the site are welcome.

We are a short walk to Kallin Harbour where you can take wildlife boat tours and source fresh seafood. Grimsay is a working island home to many attractions – The Salt Tunnels Visitor Centre, a seafood cafe and chandlers, a community café, seasonal art gallery, a boat museum and fascinating wild/birdlife and archaeology.
