Walk Waypoints

1. 1 Start off here at Bornish. Follow the track.
2. 2 At this point turn right and walk down the road for about a mile until you reach Unisary.
3. 3 When you reach Unisary, turn off the road and walk over the moorland. Unisary is where Bonnie Prince Charlie first met Flora Macdonald.
4. 4 At the main road, turn right.
5. 5 On the right you will see a sign for Flora Macdonald's birthplace. You can take the road to the left and walk up to the remains of the house.
6. 6 About a half mile from Flora Macdonald's birthplace is Kildonan Museum, where you can learn more about the island's history, but more importantly stop in the cafe for a cuppa!
7. 7 Follow the main road up the hill. At the top of the hill is the war memorial, with spectacular views accross the southern part of South Uist.
8. 8 Follow the road back down the hill to where you started.
