Urras nan Tursachan (the Standing Stones Trust) set up the Calanais Visitor Centre, and it was first opened to the public 30 June 1995. After nearly thirty years of successful operation, the Centre is now closed to the public as it undergoes a major redevelopment project, transforming it into a fit-for-purpose amenity for the local community and a 5-star visitor attraction.
From November 2024 until the new centre opends in 2026 there will be no facilities available. We apolgise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding during the improvements.
During this time, the Calanais Standing Stones remain open.
