About

The Castle has a square keep and curtain wall and has been the stronghold of the Clan MacNeil since the 11th century
The Castle was handed into the care of Historic Scotland in March 2000 on a 1000 year lease with a annual token rent of £1 and a bottle of whisky

Photographers Tip

Photography is best late in the day from the main pier or early in the day from the east side of the bay. There are remains of an old pier on the east side of the bay.
