About

Get ready for an unforgettable stay at our exquisite self-catering accommodation on the Isle of Harris.

This unique and luxurious Isle of Harris accommodation is THE destination for peace, tranquillity, and stunning natural landscapes. Experience the exceptional comforts of Baile An Or during your next getaway.

Baile An Or is located in the picturesque “Bays” region on the captivating East coast of the island. You’ll find us in the enchanting village of Ardslave, a mere 9 miles south of Tarbert, Harris.  The Bays comprise many small fishing villages that were established on this sheltered side of the island in the 18th century.  The East coast is a rugged and rocky area with new sea lochs and inlets around every corner, full of wildlife, from sea otters and dolphins to white tailed eagles and Red Deer.

It’s a short drive from the ferry terminal, but it might take a while to get here if you’re a photography enthusiast — or you travel with one. The route to our accommodation on Isle of Harris offers amazing views and many opportunities to pause and take remarkable photographs.

And there’s more! You’ll enjoy a serene and exclusive atmosphere in the tranquillity of a holiday home, where we carefully crafted every detail to offer you a luxurious and comfortable experience.

Baile An Or is built with three bedrooms on the ground floor.  The master bedroom is a double bedroom with dressing area, freestanding bath and en suite shower room.  The master bedroom has floor to ceiling windows with views towards Skye across the Minch.

Bedrooms 2 and 3  are lovely bedrooms with stunning views across the heather towards Geocrab and the Minch towards the mainland at Gairloch, Fisherfield and the Summer Isles.  Both rooms share the family shower room.

The ground floor accommodation is completed by the utility room and beautiful staircase to the upper floor.

Upstairs is the open plan living, dining and kitchen space.  The views from this room are difficult to do justice to with words – you will see what we mean!

Inside there is a wood burning stove, luxury kitchen with everything a family needs to prepare and enjoy meals from the wonderful natural larder, audio and visual system including 65 inch smart TV and Sky TV subscription including Movies and Sports.

Balconies and patio doors give access to the outdoor space.

Outside on the balconies we have the beautiful hot tub with jaw dropping views and the pizza oven.

We have been visiting Harris for over 30 years.  Our Great Grandfather was from Leverbugh, on the West Coast of Harris, and spending time in his home land started a life long love affair with this beautiful place. The building of Baile An Or represents a dream come true for our family – giving us a base and future home on the island.  For now, while our young family grows up, we invite you to enjoy what we have created – a unique, world class house in a breathtakingly beautiful location on the East Coast of Harris.
