Isle of Harris Food
Harris is a hero of Outer Hebrides hospitality.
There’s the pier placed Hotel Hebrides and the freshly cooked and baked tasty treats from Croft 36 to sink your teeth into,on your trip.
Harris is also home to Scarista House, a fully licensed, intimate island eatery, with 2 elegant candle-lit dining rooms each serving organic fish, lamb, beef and game.
If you have a sweet tooth then say no more.
Flavour, to the west of the island, make and sell delightfully decadent pralines using Belgian Ruby chocolate and single origin Fino de Aroma Colombian chocolate couvertures. Divine.
And dont forget, we have our very own artizan Hebridean mustard a must have from the Outer Hebrides!
Isle of Harris Drink
Pints, drams, cans and cocktails.
When it comes to delicious drinks, the Isle of Harris delivers in droves. If beer is your thing, the Loomshed brewery is one of the best in the business. Crofter IPA and Iasgair Lager are the perfect brews to toast your days on the hills and beaches. And The Isle of Harris Distillery speaks for itself these days.
Let’s start with the gin.
A sugar kelp infused, botanic blend that’s a total taste of the Outer Hebrides. Its bottle has captured the nation’s heart and instagram feeds.
Plus the whisky is on its way.
The softest of local waters, the richest local peat, Kentucky bourbon casks and Spanish sherry stoppers are all slowly seeping into the Isle of Harris’s first ever single malt. The Hearach will be hypnotic.
The tour and cafe are fantastic food and drink experiences in their own right too. One thing’s for sure. In Harris, you’ll not go hungry. You’ll not go thirsty.
And wherever you go, you’ll get a healthy dose of Hebridean hospitality, completely free of charge.
