Tourism to create Data Trails which have been launched across Scotland
We were delighted to be one of 20 partners from across Scotland have onboarded the innovative project between Geotourist and Dr Keith Dinnie, from the University of Dundee, with tours now live. The project seeks to identify and assess Geotourist’s unique economic and social benefits to Scottish tourism and partners will have access to Geotourist’s proprietary data dashboard to assess and analyse the results following the busy summer months.
Working with Geotourist, we have created the following tours:
Outer Hebrides – South Uist and Benbecula (this was developed as part of a previous project)
One of our priorities is to draw visitors away from hot spots by encouraging visits to other islands and parts of our islands that are quieter. We hope that the Geotourist Audio App will not only contribute to the promotion of these areas but give visitors a deeper understanding of the history and Gaelic culture of these communities and thereby enhance their visitor experience. The East coast of Lewis includes Broadbay, Sandwick, Point and Lochs and the tour in Uist was part of a previous project and is concentrated around Benbecula and South Uist.
