Description

This is an excellent short walk with some interesting history. On the 11th May 1746, returning from a failed escape bid from Stornoway the Bonnie Prince Charlie hid in a little hut in Rarnish. Leabaidh a Phrionnsa (The Prince's bed), Loch an Oir where some gold coins were thrown. Loch nan Arm where some weapons were dumped A curious stone marker on top of a mound (no other info ). Uamh a Phrionnsa where the Prince hid on the shore (access depends on tide). An inlet used by a Benbecula man who regularly smuggled illegal whisky across from Ardnamurchan.
