Starting at Bornish and walking over moorland track to South Locheynort. When you reach the road, turn right and walk along to Unisary. Unisary was the location where Bonnie Prince Charlie had his first meeting with Flora MacDonald. At Unisary, come off the road and start to walk over the moorland. Keep to the north side of Seabhal. When you reach Mingarry, walk down the road. At the main road junction, turn right and walk for about half a mile and you will see signs for Flora Macdonalds birthplace. From here walk up the main road to Kildonan Museum, where you can find out a little bit more about the history of the island and stop for a refreshing cuppa in the cafe. Walk up the Main road for a couple of miles until you get to your original start point.

- Start off here at Bornish. Follow the track.
- At this point turn right and walk down the road for about a mile until you reach Unisary.
- When you reach Unisary, turn off the road and walk over the moorland. Unisary is where Bonnie Prince Charlie first met Flora Macdonald.
- At the main road, turn right.
- On the right you will see a sign for Flora Macdonald's birthplace. You can take the road to the left and walk up to the remains of the house.
- About a half mile from Flora Macdonald's birthplace is Kildonan Museum, where you can learn more about the island's history, but more importantly stop in the cafe for a cuppa!
- Follow the main road up the hill. At the top of the hill is the war memorial, with spectacular views accross the southern part of South Uist.
- Follow the road back down the hill to where you started.
