About
Starting at Cnoc a’ Runaire - Camach Park (NB542467), behind a row of bungalows, you can follow a series of numbered marker posts around Tolsta Head. This walk has stunning coastal scenery with high cliffs, sea stacks and a number of natural arches. The plant life is rich and varied and you are sure to see many species of birds including skua which congregate on the grassland in early summer to raid the nests of the kittiwakes and herring gulls. Seals often bask at the foot of the high cliffs and dolphins, porpoises and occasionally whales can be seen close to shore, so pack your binoculars. To provide time for wildlife watching, allow three hours.
