Sitting between North Uist and Harris, the Isle of Berneray (Bearnaraigh) can be an important link in an Outer Hebrides sailing holiday.
FACILITIES, MOORINGS AND ANCHORAGES ON BERNERAY
Berneray Harbour has a fishing pier and a good range of basic facilities for crews sailing in the Western Isles. There are also several wild anchorages in the area. Tourist information is available at the nearby Nurses Cottage.
BERNERAY AND HEBRIDEAN HERITAGE
The log books for the former Berneray School (still standing in Berneray and now a hostel) are held at Liniclate Community Library, Benbecula, covering 1912-2005. Berneray Historical Society on the island have a public space and exhibition, also housed in the Nurses Cottage, near Berneray Harbour. Read more about Berneray.
