About

Shoreline Stoneware Pottery and Gallery is situated at the start of Locheport Road in North Uist. The pottery is owned and run by Louise Cook, who spent much of her childhood enchanted by adventures in and around her grandmother’s croft just a short distance from the gallery in Locheport.

Every piece of Shoreline Stoneware Pottery is hand-crafted and captures texture from natural materials and found objects, collected along the Atlantic shores of Uist & Barra. These beautiful individual stoneware fired pieces, capture the rugged beauty of the Hebrides. The changing light and seasons are captured in the use of glaze and recycled glass.

The Uists are an inspiring place to live and work and the islands are incredibly rich in creativity & artistic skill. Shoreline Stoneware Pottery is delighted to host a selection of work by talented artists, all of whom either live locally or have strong ties to the islands. With a wide selection of original works across different media, including acrylic, watercolour, pastels, photography and giclee prints. We also have a selection of artist designed sterling silver jewellery, North Uist red deer antler crafts and stunning handknitted products and kits designed and made locally to capture the islands colour palette.

Some stoneware fired pieces contain locally gathered Uist sand and beach sediments. The resulting variety of rich warm tones of golden brown creates a natural glaze when fired and a truly unique Hebridean gift.

Shoreline Stoneware also offer an international shipping service. Once you have enjoyed a browse and made your choice, your selected pieces can be shipped, on a date of your choice, to your home address.

There is ample parking and accessible parking. Campervans may find it easier to park in front of the studio, next to the road.
