About

‘An Taigh Clach’ was built as a traditional croft house in the early 1900’s and has been converted into a quality family holiday home. The open plan living / kitchen / dining area gives maximum viewing exposure and with an ample supply of locally sourced peat and wood for the multi fuel stove you will be cosy.  There are two bedrooms, one twin and one double and whilst they are not large, they are cosy and with their solid oak floors and snuggled within the old stone walls your sleep should be peaceful and undisturbed.

In an effort to reduce energy consumption we have opted not to install a bath.  However, there is a large shower where you can enjoy the fragrance of some of the many local hand-made soaps.   We are pet friendly, have off road parking, a secure garden area and an adjacent utility shed for bikes / wet suits etc.  Carloway is ideally situated for exploring the many sites of interest in Lewis and Harris.  We are in close proximity to the Callanish Standing Stones, Dun Carloway Broch, Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, Shawbost Norse Mill & Kiln, Bragar Whalebone Arch and Arnol Blackhouse.
