About

We offer a self-contained boutique style, open plan accommodation with a wood fired hot tub on the stunning west coast of the Isle of Harris. Cosy, contemporary and cool the Bothy is situated in the heart of the west coast of Harris with three beaches within walking distance and Horgabost, Seilibost, Luskentyre and Hushinish a short car journey.

Owners Rachel and Andrew established Dun Borve Bothy on Rachel's family croft, which is now into the third generation of the same family. They left the Hebrides in search of employment as many young islanders have done before them and continue to do so.

In 2018 an opportunity arose which meant they were fortunate enough to be able to return home to Harris. Andrew secured work contracts in the Wester Isles enabling the family to relocate providing much needed support to Rachels elderly Mother and allowing their two boys the same privilege of growing up on a remote Hebridean island they had experienced for themselves.

The intention was to create a special retreat situated on a secluded, private part of the Croft offering guests a cosy, contemporary base from which to experience the spectacular wealth of beaches, hills and wildlife Harris has to offer.

Living on the croft themselves Andrew and Rachel are always on hand to advise on the local area, recommend places to eat or answer any questions you may have. If requested, they will happily light the wood burning stove whilst you're out exploring so the Hot tub is ready for you to make use of on your return after a busy day.
