Uig Lodge is a fishing lodge and smokery set in a dramatic position overlooking the magnificent white sands of Uig Bay, on the west coast of Lewis. The smokery was established in 1984 by my father and uncle, Malcolm and Barry Green. In 2004 I took on the running of the smokery and with help from a great team we have continued to grow the business.
My wife Elly and I live 200 yards from the smokery with our young children and we also manage the lodge and fishing. Uig Lodge Smoked Salmon is made using our traditional family recipe which takes at least two days. Each fish is treated individually and even the prevailing weather conditions at the time of the smoke are taken into consideration. The outstanding quality of our smoked salmon was recognised in September 2014 when we won of of the major national awards presented by Great Taste, 'Speciality Producer of the Year'.
Please drop in to try our salmon and we look forward to meeting you soon, Dickon, Elly and all at Uig Lodge.
