Fourteen million video views (and counting!) later, Coinneach has motivated his followers around the world to bake, forage, learn Gaelic, have a dram or two of whisky and visit the islands!
Recipes focus on small bakes that use a simple set of ingredients, these recipes will unleash your inner Scottish baker. It’s all about rustic, home baking and old family favourites because as Coinneach says ‘Homemade is Always Best’.
Coinneach MacLeod was born and raised in the village of Cromore on the Isle of Lewis, the most northerly of the Outer Hebrides with an aim to bring the best of the Scottish islands to a worldwide audience.
With wholesome, traditional recipes, stunning photography, and a generous sprinkling of stories of island life and culture, The Hebridean Baker books offer a true taste of the Outer Hebrides & set to be a delight for bakers new and old.
‘I live by the old Gaelic saying ‘beiridh blàths air luaths’, it means ‘there is a time for everything’. I want my book to inspire the readers to do three things: slow down and enjoy life’s simple pleasures, try some of my recipes and come and visit the Outer Hebrides!’
Coinneach has launched his second book "The Hebridean Baker - My Scottish Island Kitchen"
