At Croft 2a we invite visitors to our croft to meet the animals and learn about all of the wonderful breeds of animals we care for. Visitors have the opportunity to get up close and take part in hand feeding our larger animals and provide lots of lovely cuddles to our small animals such as Peanut, Ginger and Oreo our resident Guinea Pigs and Lemon and Lime our Croft Ferrets.
We are a family run Croft in North Tolsta on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides.
Situated 20 minutes drive from the main town of Stornoway. We offer 'Meet the Animals' experiences for all, butchery services as well as selling our own meat products (seasonal) and a small honesty shop selling our eggs and more!
We specialise in breeding and rearing rare breed animals such as Hebridean, North Ronaldsay and Soay sheep, Shetland Cattle, Scots Dumpy Chickens and more! Our family consists of Paul (Mr Crofter) who moved here from South Yorkshire about 20 years ago, followed by Gemma (Mrs Crofter) who re-located here 9 years ago and our beautiful Hebridean born girls Emily and Isabel (The Wee Crofters).
During certain times of the year (August - December) we also sell meat boxes of our Shetland beef, Hebridean Hogget and Large Black Pork. Our mission is to provide our customers with the freshest, highest quality meat products from the field to the fork.
We have an on-site butchery and offer a butchery service to local Crofters within the islands.
We have Toilet, Baby Changing and Hand Washing facilities available.
No Smoking or Vaping is allowed on our Croft
