About

The Gannet nests in huge colonies on offshore islands such as St Kilda and Sula Sgeir. However, they fly hundreds of miles in search of food and are commonly seen around the Harris coastline. Look out for them as they dive from great height, headfirst into the sea.

Huisnish is a particularly good place to watch gannets fishing during bright breezy days. Their presence will often be a sign of shoals of fish in the area.
